To discuss the news ticker. Discuss the news, maybe flesh out a news item if you found it interesting/amusing.

I love this stuff. Really adds to the feeling.
"ADVENT Security announces 5% drop in terrorist activity year-on-year." (or some other bullshit statistic)

"ADVENT announces security clearance reorganization by color, with the intent to curb treason."

Offering up Claire for the news grinder. She would easily have been identified after-the-fact, so might be a new face calling for citizen alertness. She doesn't look much like a rebel at this time, after all. "Troubled teen turned terrorist Claire Bridges fires openly on Peacekeepers and civilians, killing several. Could a terrorist be living next door? Report all suspicious behavior."

Heh. Time to update the news ticker after all. I can use that. You should write the full news article following.

Children's game of "Soldiers and Terrorists" goes wrong after someone's toy gun fires at Adjudicator.
Seriously, if your Nerf dart hits a Muton, you RUN LIKE HELL.

Another suggestion:
PSA: The Muton Adjudicators do not exist only to do all your heavy lifting. They have more important things to do. The incident at North America City Center Epsilon was the fault of citizen Mortimer Sigfried, who is now in custody for terrorist behavior. This PSA brought to you by the ADVENT Coalition: Serving a better, brighter future.

Talking alien ranks, I think this would do tentatively:
Arbitrator: The "base" alien rank, equivalent to what XCOM classified as a "Soldier" in the old wars. Arbitrators are tasked with law enforcement and operations above the day to day first response that ADVENT works with, and this is the most commonly seen rank.
Adjudicator: These are equivalent to Navigators, and can be thought as SPECs to the PFCs that Arbitrators are, more specialised troops compared to basic all-rounders for their race. They are UFO pilots and crewmen, and are also responsible for operating alien technology. Often also specialized as NCOs.
Medicae: Medics. Responsible for the upkeep of aliens in their local areas, and interrogation in some cases, leading some of their comrades to leerily regard them.
Architect: Engineers. Responsible for maintenance and operations of higher-level machinery such as Elerium-driven weapons and UFOs, and also the upkeep of alien weapons.
Controller: A sort of "squad leader" equivalent to Leaders. Responsible for interrogation alongside Medicae, and field command. Takes field precedence over Adjudicators where present.
Judge: City-center wide commander, usually a high-ranked species and specially bred for the purpose or selected for extreme bravery and skills that would suit it. Given essentially total citywide control but audited to prove loyalty.
----
And ADVENT ranks: T2C: Trooper, 2nd class. Equivalent to XCOM Rookie. Assigned to troopers undergoing their first deployments. T1C: Trooper 1st class. Equivalent to XCOM Squaddie. CPL: Corporal. NCO. SGT: Sergeant. NCO. CPT: Captain. Starting rank of Officer Corps. Often also deployed as "elite infantry" besides NCO work. LTC: Lieutenant commander. CMD: Commander. Officer Corps. Oversees a certain area of an ADVENT city-center. Defers to Alien city leaders such as Judges. Responsible for ADVENT operations in a certain city.

I could believe that calling a Muton an Arbitrator would be an insult to them, even if they actually are one. Their clan-like nature seems overly competitive, and in a psychological aspect, they don't want to be looked down upon as "inferior." So when publicly mentioning Mutons, whoever is the newscaster defers to them as Adjudicators - one step up than Grunts, even though they are technically Grunts. Very Tech-savvy Grunts.

So when publicly mentioning Mutons, whoever is the newscaster defers to them as Adjudicators - one step up than Grunts, even though they are technically Grunts. Very Tech-savvy Grunts. Mutons are very, very technically referred to as Arbitrators.. but in most cases you'll see Mutons as Adjudicators, as they often rise through the basic "grunt" rank very quickly unless shit is really going down and command sees fit to deploy entire squads of Mutons. This somewhat satisfies Mutons; they get to be the "leaders" most of the time, and this has gotten to the point where it's a direct insult in Muton culture to be referred to as an Arbitrator or any rank of the equivalent.

Do Advent weapons not have a death switch or a DNA-lock,when the owner expires,or an unauthorized person tries to use them? I am referring to the news about peacekeepers being murdered with "stolen weapons".Is this not in effect or is Advent just trying to fool the average citizien with propaganda?
